The VIN Foundation
Michele Gaspar is a veterinarian and a licensed psychotherapist/psychoanalyst. She is a 1994 graduate of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her MA in counseling from Loyola University/ Chicago in 2012. Michele is a consultant in Feline Internal Medicine with the Veterinary Information Network (VIN) and is a member of Vets4Vets, a free service of the VIN Foundation that provides assistance to veterinarians and veterinary students with professional and/or personal challenges. Michele facilates VIN's Mindfulness Meditation course each year and the annual Mindfulness Meditation Retreat for Veterinarians. She has a private psychotherapy practice in Chicago and completed her psychoanalytic training with the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis in 2023. She is completing training with the American Balint Society. Michele's interests include alal things related to feline medicine, bringing greater psychological awareness to veterinary clinicians and students to decrease stress and enhance communication in the consultation room, helping them sustain clinical practice, and assisting them in achieving greater work/life balance and professional and personal satisfaction.
