Dr. Madeline Yamate received her BA from Amherst College in 1982, MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University in 1991, DVM from UC Davis in 2005 and completed her internship in veterinary acupuncture at UF Gainesville in 2007 under Dr. Huisheng Xie. Dr. Yamate is certified in veterinary acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, food therapy and Tui-na by the Chi University, and veterinary spinal manipulative therapy by the Healing Oasis Wellness Center. She was on faculty at the Chi University in the United States and Spain from 2006-2016, teaching acupuncture, advanced acupuncture, herbology, food therapy and Tui-na. She has lectured internationally on Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and integrative veterinary medicine, and in 2023, she was recognized as a Charter Fellow of the American College of Veterinary Botanical Medicine for her long-term commitment to veterinary botanical medicine and exemplary standard of clinical practice, teaching and publishing. In 2024 she was awarded the Holistic Practitioner of the Year by the American Holistic Veterinary Medicine Association. Dr. Yamate is also committed to organized medicine, serving as Treasurer for both the American Holistic Veterinary Medicine Association and the American Holistic Veterinary Medicine Foundation, and as President of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Foundation since 2023. Dr. Yamate is in private practice at the Center for Integrative Animal Medicine in Davis, CA which she founded in 2012.
