Dr. Adam Patterson, Chief of Dermatology at Texas A&M, is a 2001 graduate of Mississippi State’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed an internship at The University of Tennessee, followed by a residency at the University of Illinois. Dr. Patterson worked in private practice in Maryland before joining A&M. He is a co-author of Small Animal Dermatology: A Color Atlas and Therapeutic Guide, 4th edition, a board member of the journal Veterinary Dermatology, and is a Past President of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. Much of his research has centered on the cutaneous microbiome. Dr. Patterson was recognized for his effective teaching with a Provost teaching award in 2025. He has a passion for making dermatology simple and practical with hopes that he does this for you today.
