A graduate of Texas A&M University's College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Long has built an impressive career that spans clinical practice, professional leadership, and dedicated mentorship. She has continued her professional development with recent certifications in coaching, including her Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) credential and Associate Certified Coach (ACC) designation.
With nearly two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Long practiced as a veterinarian and emergency clinician from 2003 to 2022, including 19 years at Bay Glen Animal Hospital in Houston, where she served as Managing DVM from 2015 to 2022. She also managed the Feline Medical Center and worked as an emergency clinician with VCA for over 15 years, developing a comprehensive understanding of both general practice and emergency medicine.
Dr. Long's commitment to the veterinary profession extends far beyond clinical practice. She served seven years with the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, progressing through leadership roles to President from 2023-2024. This extensive leadership experience has given her unique insights into the challenges facing the veterinary profession at both individual and industry levels.
Since 2022, Dr. Long has focused her career on mentorship and coaching as an NVA General Practice Mentor. She is also a certified coach through the Co-Active Training Institute and recently became a 3VQ (3 Vital Questions) certified trainer in 2024. Through these roles, she provides support to individuals in the veterinary field, helping amazing professionals discover their path and strive to be their best selves.
