Former Hospital Director
White Rock Veterinary Hospital and Exotic Pet Care
Dr. Todd Riggan has had a lifelong passion for exotic pet medicine. After graduating from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in May 1991, Dr. Riggan immediately dove into the field. He began his career as a veterinarian in St Augustine Florida developing the first exotics practice in the area. At the same time, he served as veterinarian for the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, where he cared for a diverse range of reptiles, birds, and mammals. Then Dr. Riggan gained experience in emergency medicine at a 24hr veterinary hospital before returning to Texas, where he continued to hone his veterinary skills as an associate veterinarian until he opened his own practice.
In 2001, Dr. Riggan started White Rock Veterinary and Exotic Pet Care. Over the next decade, the practice grew, culminating in the construction of a new free-standing facility that opened in May 2013. The practice expanded to a seven-doctor, high-level diagnostic center, offering advanced care for exotic companion animals.
In 2016, Dr. Riggan achieved board certification with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) in Exotic Companion Mammals, further solidifying his expertise in the field.
Outside of work, Dr. Riggan is a proud parent of four children—one daughter and three sons, including twins—and a proud grandparent to a 7-year-old granddaughter. His family also includes a dog, four cats, and one chicken.
Having recently retired from clinical practice, Dr. Riggan now plans to explore travel opportunities and is considering teaching & consulting to share his extensive knowledge of exotic companion animal medicine with future generations of veterinarians.
