Mentorship Senior Director
National Veterinary Associates (NVA)
Dr. Beth Neuman was raised on a farm in North Dakota, where she developed her strong work ethic and love for animals. Her undergraduate training was in English and Communications, and her diverse career path included operating a movie theater, working at a theme park, and managing staff at an insurance company until she adopted a cat with medical issues—an experience that sparked her passion for veterinary medicine.
Dr. Neuman graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Seeking a warmer climate, she moved her family to Tucson, Arizona, where she began practicing emergency and critical care medicine at Pima Pet Clinic/Animal Emergency Service. Always restless and entrepreneurial, her experience spans general practice, urgent care, emergency medicine, shelter medicine, and relief work in both associate and ownership roles.
In March 2010, Dr. Neuman opened Twin Peaks Veterinary Center, which she grew into a successful five-doctor practice operating seven days a week with state-of-the-art diagnostics and equipment. The practice welcomed walk-ins and urgent care cases alongside their regular caseload. Building on this success, she opened a second practice, Dove Mountain Veterinary, in 2017, which has grown into a thriving six-doctor practice known for urgent care services and exceptional patient care, particularly during the pandemic.
Dr. Neuman's commitment to animal welfare extended to shelter medicine when she took a position at the Hermitage Cat Shelter in 2018, spending two years improving medical care and performing dentistry and sterilization procedures. She continues to volunteer at the local county shelter. She sold Twin Peaks Veterinary Center in 2019 while continuing to operate Dove Mountain Veterinary. In 2021, she began offering relief services to local hospitals, as well as joining National Veterinary Associates in a veterinary support capacity.
Passionate about the health and well-being of veterinary professionals, Dr. Neuman transitioned to full-time mentorship in spring 2022, supporting 25 new graduates in Arizona and California. While continuing to support early career professionals, she currently leads the NVA GP Mentorship team of 15 mentors, placed strategically around the country and this year supporting just over 300 DVMs.
Dr. Neuman has been married for 25 years and has three young adult children. She lives in a fixer-upper home with a menagerie of pets and is passionate about all that southern Arizona has to offer, including desert hiking and biking, but especially the local food scene.
