Dr. Lauren Brady earned her undergraduate and veterinary degrees from Texas A&M University and completed a graduate certificate in Aquatic Animal Care & Conservation through the University of Florida. She is the founder and owner of Aggieland Veterinary Services (AVS), an ambulatory practice dedicated to providing comprehensive care for exotic species in zoos, wildlife sanctuaries, and private facilities. In addition to routine veterinary services, Dr. Brady offers staff training and consultations on USDA compliance, habitat design, collection management, and emergency preparedness. Her mission is to elevate the standards of “small” facilities, ensuring the well-being of animals and fostering a positive public and zoological community perception through enhanced operational and animal care practices.
Beyond her work at AVS, Dr. Brady has served as a faculty member in Blinn College’s Veterinary Technician Program, teaching Exotic Animal Clinical Management. She also has acted as a consistent locum veterinarian at an emergency hospital in Houston. Dr. Brady is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the AVMA, AAZV, WAVMA, AAWV, and AASRP. In 2023, she was awarded AASRP Clinical Research Grant and is investigating parasite management strategies in cervids.
