Renee Carter received her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in 2000 followed by a small animal rotating internship in 2001. After completion of a four-year residency in comparative ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2006, she obtained board certification by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. Dr. Carter is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Louisiana State University and actively involved with ophthalmology clinical service and teaching. Her primary research interests are in the areas of corneal wound healing, equine uveitis, and development of nanoparticle drug delivery systems.
