This session will examine the use of CBD + CBDA rich hemp products in horses and other hind and foregut fermenters, showing that dosing is very different between species. The utility in horses has not been well established at this juncture however the pharmacokinetics are becoming well worked out showing that dosing may be critical. The current research is suggesting that full spectrum hemp products may have some utility in comfort and behavior and that many of the current products on the market are grossly underdosing. Further research in the ruminant is ongoing related to pharmacokinetics and many foregut fermenting species like goats, giraffes and moose have been treated successfully.
