Enjoy a beautiful safari-like tour of the 1800 acre conservation breeding center while veterinarians engage you in exciting continuing education topics like: ungulate health concerns including malignant catarrhal fever, haemonchus, and cyathostomins; cheetah medicine and conservation; antelope and gazelle reintroduction in northern Africa; anesthesia protocols for large hoofstock and giraffe; USFWS Recovery programs - red wolves, Mexican wolves and Attwater prairie chickens. The open air bus tour is fun AND educational! Your guides: Dr. Julie Swenson, is boarded in zoological medicine and has been Fossil Rim's Associate Vet since 2014; Dr. Holly Haefele has served as Director of Animal Health since 2006 and serves as AZA's Cheetah SSP veterinary co-advisor. At the conclusion of this tour, box lunch is provided for the return trip.
